How to Cold Brew

While it was delicious hot, the flavor just wasn’t right cold and the ice watered it down. There was only one solution: create our own cold brew! Cold Brew is never exposed to heat.
While cold brew is, ya know, cold coffee, it’s not just regular iced coffee. Unlike regular coffee, cold brew uses time, rather than heat to extract all the coffees goodness (oils, sugars and caffeine!).

Longer brew time creates a smoother coffee.
Cold brew coffee is a dream for those who like to plan ahead. It’s a gradual process, taking 12-24 hours. Think sun tea, but without the sun. The result is a very smooth, rich infusion, with low levels of acidity, which can be way better for those with sensitive digestive systems.

Freshness for over a week.
Oxidation (fancy coffee-aficionado word for exposure to air that causes stale-ness) still happens when you brew your coffee cold, but it happens way slower. This is why cold brew almost never tastes acidic or bitter and stays fresh longer. Our prepared cold brew will stay fresh in the refrigerator for 7-10 days!

So glad you asked! We made a this video to show you just how easy it is to make organic, fair-trade, coffee shop quality cold brew at home with our Cold Brew Coffee Bag.

  1. Carefully open the package and place into a 2 qt. sized pitcher.
  2. Fill your pitcher with 42 oz. of cold water.
  3. Let it brew on your counter or inside your refrigerator for 24 hours.
  4. After brewing, gently remove filter pack from pitcher and discard. (Be careful not to tear the filter, that could get messy.)
  5. Serve over ice and enjoy!
